Speaker: Dr. Myoung-Gyun Suh
Physics & Informatics Laboratories, NTT Research, Inc.
Abstract:
Optics plays an essential role in modern information society. Optical communication enables a faster and energy-efficient flow of information, and various optical measurement technologies help the harvesting of information from the environment. Optical frequency combs, which provide massive optical parallelism and unprecedented precision in time and frequency metrology, have significant implications for the optical technologies. Moreover, recent advances in chip-integrable optical frequency combs (microcombs) enable the widespread use of frequency combs. In this talk, I will introduce our research on soliton microcombs and experimental demonstration of various application systems utilizing precision and parallelism of microcombs.
