Title: Photonic crystal devices for sensing

Abstract: Two photonic crystal (PC) devices will be presented. PC slow light waveguides are applicable to high-resolution wide-FOV beam scanning. It also acts as a Tx/Rx optical antenna in a solid-state LiDAR sensor fabricated by Si photonics platform. The PC nanolaser acts as a bio-chemical sensor, which detects not only refractive index but also.ions in a solution. Nanolaser-loaded electro-chemical circuit allows stable, sensitive, selective and/or simple sensing of biomolecules.
